Sparkle and Bling in a Recession

Sparkle and Shimmer are back; which can be a scary thought to some. There are so many new shimmery products introduced by Yves Saint Laurent, NARS, Makeup Forever, MAC, and Stilla just to name a few. However the recession has had a negative impact on our finances and some of us cannot afford to go out and buy all the new fall makeup if any. My suggestion to you is to look no further than your own stash. For those of us who have collected Makeup over the years here are a few things I know may be hiding in your stash. Makeup Forever is offering a limited edition Forever Rock collection for the fall. For me the quad is a must have and the aqua liners are a known to be loved by makeup artist. The colors are amazing and versatile. This winter I can only image creating smoky eyes and adding a little shimmer to my look for holiday parties. Milani Lip Flash Pencil Review

Milian introduced the full coverage shimmer gloss pencils. These pencils are amazing. I love the colors and the application. I have purchased 4 of the lip pencils and I have enjoyed them. The are quick and easy. I love the packaging unlike regular lipstick you can look at it and easily know what color it is. I think of this more like a buildable lip gloss. I dont quite understand why Miliani did not do a lot of promotions for this product it really deserves more attention. It transitions easliy from the summer to the fall...I can see the Lip Flash and the Star Flash applied along with a smokey eye. The News Flash would look terrific in the fall. I say pick up several colors I am sure you could put them to use.

The New Nars 2010 Collection

The NARS 2010 Collection is wonderful...I had to see each color in person for myself. NARS

Douceur Blush - very nice pink brown color blush. Although the color is cute beware my darker skin sitters it can come off a litte ashy on us.

Daphne Single Eyeshadow - Beautiful Purple color named after Daphne Guinness.. thought the color was beautiful but it is going to take some work to get the color payoff you may be looking for.

Mangrove Single Eyeshadow - A Wonderful bright color for the fall, a dull yellow color that brightens the eye, so much you could do with this color.

Coconuct Grove Single Eyeshadow - A dark brown to die for. I could not find one brown in Sephora that could stand up to this brown, it is a must have...NARS this is a keeper.

Rouge Basque Lipstick - a beautiful red lipstick for all colors, not too bright and not too dark.

Strawberry Fields - A nice pink gloss for those who love Nars Gloss. Dont think its a must have.

Palladium Soft Touch Shadow Pencil - I am on the fence with this one... the color is beautiful however you can pass there are so many products out this color if you just dont love it I dont see a reason to spend 24 us dollars for it.

Tzarine Dou Eyeshadow and Rajasthan Duo Eyeshadow - they both are nice pallets nothing extra special about them for darkskin more of a highlighligh, crease color for dark chocolate girls.

Wet N Wild Color Icon eyeshadow

Wet N Wild has introduction the new color icon eyeshadow pallette. This pallette comes with six beautiful colors and two applicators a sponge tip and a small brush. Both the sponge and the brush are not of much help because they are small...but wow the color payoff is GREAT!! I did use a base before I applied the color and I do have oily lids. The colors were hightly pigmented. It comes with 6 colors and they offer 4 different palletes. I love this pallette and plan to buy more in the future.

Pigment - 4.5 Stars

Overall - This was a good drugstore brand with lots of pigment, however even with primer and shadesticks applied under the shadow it did fade before the end of a work day.

Tis the Season for Makeup Savings

If you are new to make up and looking to build your collections this is your season. The holiday season is a good time to stock up on gift sets, quads and glosses. Many companies are offering wonderful deals...MAC is coming out this a collectin on Nov 4 that features lip glosses, and pigments in a addition to that they have already relased brush sets and eyeshadow sets. Brands like Stilla, Urban Decay,Tarte,Bare Essentials, Smashbox,Cargo, and numerous of high end department store brands are offering gifts sets for you to try there products. As a consumer and a beauty fashionista this is your time to take advatanges of the products and savings. Whats on your wish list??? I know whats on mine.!

TRENDS 2009

Urban Decay 24/7 Liner

Urban Decay 27/7 colored liners are one of the best creamest long lasting liners I have tried. The critic in me tried to find a flaw with the liners but I could not at a retail price of $17 dollars I think it is worth it. I would hightly recommend this product for the fall especially if you have watery eyes like myself..
